Charleston Battery S.C.

Charleston Battery SC Badge & Logo Charleston Battery SC was formed in 1993 and play in the A-League (which is effectively soccer's second division in the USA and top division in Canada).

The club's crest was designed in 1993 (at the time of the club's formation) by the wife of Charleston Battery's first Head Coach, Tim Hankinson (who has since gone on to coach MLS's Colorado Rapids SC).

The two cannons relate to the club's name and Charleston's historic legacy ("Battery" meaning "the men who manned the cannons" during the Civil War).

The crest is coloured in the club's home colours (yellow and black) and is complemented with the club name and a football, representing the sport played.

Special 10th Anniversary Charleston Battery SC Badge & Logo Charleston Battery SC celebrated its 10th anniversary season during 2002 for which a special crest was created (see left).

This crest shows the main club crest sitting proudly on a large letter 'X' (the Roman numeral for ten) and finished using the clubs away colours of red and black.

Thanks to Andrew Bell, Director of PR & Marketing at Charleston Battery SC, for the above crests and information.
