Thurso F.C.

Thurso FC Badge Thurso FC is a relatively new club having only been formed for the 1998/99 season following calls for a local team to be formed in competition to challenge fierce local rivals, Wick Academy FC.

Playing in the North Caledonian League - which is commonly known as the "Highland Reserve League" - the club's eventual aim is to gain a place in the Highland League itself in the not too distant future.

Despite its short history, the club has already built an impressive honours list and during the 2002/03 season, Thurso FC achieved the treble of the North Caledonian League (for the second time), the Morris Newton Cup and the Football Times Cup.

The Thurso FC club crest shows a Norse Viking holding a shield (in Thurso's home colours of red & white) while standing on a football (to represent the sport played by the club). The club's nickname is 'The Vikings', the connection being the close local links with Scandinavia over several centuries dating back to the Viking era.

Thanks to Brian Mackay, Website Editor at Thurso FC, for the above crest and information.
